Aquatic Ecological Surveys
Aquatic Ecosystems
Aquatic ecosystems are home to nearly 40% of the world’s vertebrate species, highlighting their critical role in maintaining global biodiversity. These ecosystems form an essential part of local ecologies and landscapes, making their conservation and the study of aquatic life paramount.
However, proposed developments can pose significant risks to local water resources and the ecosystem services they provide. Careful assessment and management are crucial to ensure the protection and sustainable use of these valuable natural assets.
Aquatic Ecology
Our experienced team of aquatic ecologists has conducted comprehensive surveys across a wide range of water bodies, including rivers, wetlands, dams, and lakes of all sizes, throughout the African continent and South-East Asia.
Our team uses non-fatal electroshocking techniques, large circular trap nets, seine nets, hand-held nets, gill nets, and rod and line to sample fish species.
